Students walk around the "caution" signs in "A" building. -

On Jan. 10, students with classes in A Building may have noticed the “Wet Floor” signs and the bucket set up to catch the water falling through the roof!

The ceiling was slightly curved from the force of the water, and the bucket was definitely getting its fill. The hallways, though always chaotic, where even worse due to having to walk around the bucket.

The cause of this hole is unknown, but according to the maintenance staff, it arrived shortly after the building was first built. The school has apparently made an effort to have the leak fixed each time it has been discovered “broken,” but the effort proves useless each time Poplar Bluff receives a hard rainfall.

This incident may arouse questions of what kinds of other weather-related problems PBHS may have, but the only problems found on the day of the rainfall were the “A Building Leak” and the flooding of the room under C Building stairs.

These issues arise only during heavy rainfall and are “patched” up until they can be properly tended to.
