This year Poplar Bluff High School is experiencing many new faces. Students from all over the world have come just to experience life at Poplar Bluff High School. A new addition to PBHS is Debora Arcuri.

Debora is from Belo Horizante in Minas Gerais, Brazil. She loves to meet new people and visit new places. That is why she decided to become a foreign exchange student in America during her senior year of high school.

Debora said, “America is so much different than I thought it would be, but I really like it here.”

In Brazil things are done very differently. For example, students do not go to their next class every hour; instead the teachers went around to the next class.

Debora’s hobbies include hanging out with her friends, reading and learning new things, as well as meeting new people. Although she doesn’t play soccer, Debora is a huge fan of the sport--known as “futbol” in her country.

Debora is also very close to her family. She has a brother who is 20 and a younger sister who is 16. She misses her siblings and her parents, but she is enjoying herself very much in America

Debora plans on going back to Brazil next year and starting college.
