Julia Huck was chosen for the Senior Spotlight this month. Ann and Joe Huck are her parents. She also has a older sister named Joanne, 24.

Julia has worked hard for everything that she accomplished in high school. Julia loves endurance sports like distance running. She played tennis her freshman year and ran cross country her sophomore year. She has been in STUCO since sophomore year.

Julia has lettered in academics every year since she entered the ninth grade. She has also lettered in cheerleading and cross country.

Julia is pretty content with being herself. If she could trade places with anybody in the world, she doesn’t know who she would trade with.

Julia likes to eat ice cream and watch the Big Bang Theory. Her favorite color is green. Julia’s favorite childhood memory is when her father took her backpacking. She said “ It was hard work, but I love being outside.”

Julia would like to go to college to become a pediatrician and specialize in cancer treatment. While she is getting her prerequisites, she is going to major in engineering. Julia’s favorite class is chemistry at the moment.

She enjoys the late spring season. Steve Prefantaine inspires Julia because he had trouble finding his talent, but when he found his talent, he harnessed it. His dedication is what truly inspires Julie.

If Julia could change anything about herself, she would like to be less critical.

Julia enjoys music very much and doesn’t have a favorite song or singer.

Julia has some advice for the underclassmen. She said, “It is important to get involved and keep an open mind.”

Julia lives by these words: There is no skill in easy sailing when the skies are clear and blue, and there is no joy in merely doing things by doing things that anyone can do. But there is great satisfaction, that is mighty sweet to take, when you reach a destination that you said you couldn’t make!”
