And now...the end is near...and so I face the final curtain. My name is Chelsea “Cha” Edmundson and I have been imprisoned inside this school for four years. And just like those who have come before me, I will be leaving soon to embark on, well, more school. You can find me at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. (about 20 minutes drive from Kansas City). I have received a scholarship for scholastic recognition and have been admitted, also on partial scholarship, into the theater program.

I want to be an actress someday, but just like Sheldon, my parents have been very insistent that I have something to fall back on, and so I was like, “Huh, Music Business. Cool.” And so it has become my second major. But seriously, I am very passionate about music and musicians, and if I’m not able to be on the silver screen, I would like nothing more than to be around music all the time and to help musicians with their careers--and help them not get screwed over by record labels.

Due to a mistake in scheduling, I wound up in Mr. Lee’s newspaper class and, because I was too lazy to go fix it, I have been a member of The Bluffer for three years. It was the best mistake EVER. Not only has Mr. Lee been pretty much the coolest teacher I have ever had, but I think that writing for The Bluffer, and eventually being permitted to have my own music column, has really helped me discover my passion for the music industry. Thank you to everyone that has read my Boombox and I hope that someone will continue it.

In addition to acting, I also love to sing and I have been dancing for over 13 years. Someday, I hope to combine all three to become a triple threat in Los Angeles where I plan to move to pursue my career. I don’t know if I’ll be famous, but I want to be happy and successful, and I think that’s what everyone hopes for.

Right now I am choreographing Chicago for community theater, and I will also be playing the character of Velma Kelly. This musical has consumed my life and I have been working very hard on it. I think it will be something that I am very proud to have been a part of, so I hope that you all come to see it, June 1-2 or June 15-16. Yes, I am promoting SHAMELESSLY.

PBHS has felt more and more confining and suffocating for me the longer I have been inside its walls. I mean, when you hit about 16 or 17, it’s just like “Wha’??? I have to ask to go to the bathroom?” So, yeah, I’m pretty excited about NEVER having to see certain teachers and fellow students ever again.

But on a less bitter note, there are some people that I will miss more than anything in the world. “The Chosen Ones,” you know who you are, and this is not goodbye. Molly...Molly, Molly...good golly Miss Molly...thanks for stickin’ by me. I’m pretty sure we will end up in the same nursing home together someday. Your my “beffren’” foreva baby!

All of my other friends, especially those of you that I’m really close to, you’re the best and don’t worry--you haven’t gotten rid of me yet and I love ya. Caroline and Chelse--take care of each other.

If there is one thing I hope everyone can say after I’m gone, I hope it’s that I did it my way. Boombox OUT!
