The soundtrack with various R&Band hip-hop artists for the upcoming movie “More Than A Game,” has beenreleased. The movie, released Oct. 2, focuses on five basketball players (fromAkron, Ohio) who compete in a high school basketball championship, includingNBA player LeBron James.

Thesongs on the CD are fairly good, including “Forever” from the popular newrapper Drake, and along with Lil Wayne, Eminem, and Kanye West. Mary J. Bligeis also featured on the album with her powerful new single “Stronger.” Bligealso has a music video on MTV with footage from the movie. Along with Drake andBlige, Jay-Z’s “History” is a perfect single for any Hip-Hop fan.

Mostof the songs on the soundtrack are enjoyable and have nice beats and singing. But some of the songs, such as Ester Dean’s “Drop It Low,” featuring ChrisBrown, are a failure. The song is unsuccessful and rather annoying. Dean andBrown have a music video of the song with footage from the movie. Along withDean’s same old butt-shaking song, Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em‘s track “I’m Ballin” isa perfect example of why hip-hop is dead. The song talks about how much moneySoulja Boy has, a hip-hop stereotype. Two other tracks, by little known artistsHayes and Jared Evan, are very mediocre and fail to make a lasting impression.

Thelast song on the soundtrack is titled “If You Dream,” which features manydifferent R&B and soul artists, leaving the CD on a powerful and movingnote.

Soall in all, the soundtrack is okay. Don’t go out and buy it, but some songs areworth downloading.
