It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

The varsity baseball squad has dropped 12 of their last 14 games after riding a seven game win streak to start the year. With the skid the Gondos have fallen from a first to sixth place in the Western League.

The Gondos have been affected by injuries to key players including junior pitcher Toby Mills, and senior shortstop Nic Losman.

In addition, the Gondos have also faced tougher competition in the second half of their season because they played in a tournament over spring break with teams ranked near the top of the City Section.

The Gondos PALI GAME (MAY 5)

The Gondos won a back and forth game against the Hamilton Yankees on Apr. 29.  Hamilton scored three runs in the top of the first, but Venice answered right back,  Venice scored three times in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 9-6 lead and was able to hold on.

On Apr. 27, the Gondos lost to University 8-2. University jumped ahead with five runs in the second inning and never looked back.

On Apr. 13, the Gondos lost a close game to Westchester 13-12. The Gondos scored six runs in the sixth inning to take a 12-4 lead, but the Comets answered back with nine runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 13-12 lead.
