The senior prom will be held June 6 at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. This year the prom theme will be "Seaside Serenade." With an open patio, a live DJ all night long, cool lighting, and a live fish exhibit, the class of '09 officers are promising that prom will be a special night for everyone. 

The dress code for the dance will be black tie, which means tuxedos for the guys and girls in formal wear.

"We are anticipating the best prom ever," said Zac Bragg, the president of class of '09. All guests have to be approved by the Dean's office. Prom tickets will go on sale starting May 18 until May 29 at the Student Store for $110. The later you buy the tickets, the more expensive they may get. The purchase price includes the prom, dinner, dance and music. 

Additional entertainment will be presented including casino games, such as blackjack and poker. A slide show of senior photos will be presented. If anyone has a picture to contribute, they can give it to Ms. Kirsten Farrell, the sponsor of class of '09, in Shop 6 by May 15 on DVDs or CDs.

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the prom. The aquarium is at 100 Aquarium Way in Long Beach, a 30-minute drive from Venice High School.
