Coming off an 5-4-1 record in the 07-08 season, the Venice JV football team is having a good season by prayers and hardwork, said Coach Moss Bosley.

On Friday, the Gondos will welcome the Fairfax Lions for the Homecoming game, which is the final game at Watson Field in the regular season. The JV football team is 3-0 in league. They are looking to bring home the Western League Championship. Both Fairfax and Venice are undefeated.

Last week, the Gondoliers had a tough game against the Palisades Dolphins. The Gondoliers stopped the Dolphins in the last seconds of the 4th quarter to make the score 21-14. Mychael Tarr #22 had a 35-yard touchdown run with a key block by Lamar Moody. Dean Sarabia #11 added another touchdown pass to his record to Gabriel Marks #8 for 22 yards and Thomas Hasani also added another touchdown to his record.

On Oct.23, the Gondoliers beat the University Wildcats 24-8. Second-string quarterback Dana Goodnight #2 had two touchdown passes to Gabriel Marks for 15 yards and Deontay Banks #5 caught a 60-yard pass for another touchdown. Hasani had a rushing touchdown.

Helping in the win over the Yankees, the key players to success were #1 Lamar Moody, who had a rushing touchdown, Hasani #3 in his home jersey who had three more rushing touchdowns, and Jeremiah Giles, #10, who had a touchdown reception from quarterback Dean Sarabia for 30 yards.

In the league opener against Hamilton High, the Gondoliers beat the Yankees 41-7 on Oct. 16. Coach Kerry Dawson, the head coach, said “a good week of practice shows on game days. It’s the league opener week so we have to set the tone.”
