Girls volleyball season is back. Coming off a good season last year (10-2), the team is hoping to improve their second place standing to win the Western League.

“The girls varsity volleyball team is really coming together,” said returning player Courtney Nichol. There are six returning varsity players and three rookies from junior varsity. The seniors on the team are Niki Pacey, Casey Machado, Courtney Nichol, Jessica Forbis and Ereni Arreola.

“Unfortunately we lost three key players (who graduated), but the team looks great at practice,” said senior Pacey.

On Oct. 15th, the team will take on its biggest challenge as they face the Palisades Dolphins at Venice.

“The goal for the upcoming season is to perform to the best of our ability. If we accomplish that, we will win the Western League,” said Coach Allen Hunt.

The first game is a practice game at Venice against Monroe on Tuesday, Sept. 30th. The first league home game will be played against Westchester on Oct 8th.
