Only a few days back from winter break, I began to hear a number of comments regarding the Miami Hurricanes’ loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The comments were mostly bad-mouthing the Canes and implying that they were losers.

The ironic (and disappointing) part of these comments is that they were coming from die-hard fans that would have sworn by the Canes a couple of weeks prior to the loss.

So, I ask: are you a fan or a fake?

I don’t recall anyone bad-mouthing the Canes before the started losing.

I definitely don’t remember fans bringing up Ohio when Miami beat Nebraska at the Rose Bowl last year.

Now all of sudden, after 34 wins and their first loss people can’t seem to shake the “loser” vibe.

So, why the sudden hype about Ohio?

Just because they were beaten the number one team at the national championship game this year does not undo the amazing winning streak that Miami has experienced this year.

It does not compare to Miami’s reputation. And it shouldn’t decide whether you are a fan.

So, for the last time, I’ll ask: what happened to the Canes fans?
