Assistant Principal Dawn Baglos was sitting in her office on Tuesday, Feb. 20, when a teacher approached her and said: “Dawn, there is a truck blocking the road.” Baglos, puzzled, walked to the front of the school and found the truck, which was delivering pipes for athletic field renovation, blocking Countyline Road.

The driver had attempted to turn his truck around when it got stuck in the soft dirt, leaving only one lane for cars to enter the school. Baglos directed parents into the bus lane and sent them out to the student parking lot. Only teachers, who were identified by the staff decal on their car, were let into the parking lot. The buses had to go into the student parking lot and around the circle to exit on 16th avenue. The driver was able to get his truck out by 6:50 a.m. and due to the situation that day, tardies were held.
