Police and investigators are unsure about the well-being of three Michigan boys that are currently being searched for. The trio was reported missing on Friday. The father of these children, John Skelton, claims he left them with a woman named Joann Taylor on Friday. Skelton says that the woman was instructed to take them to their home in Morenci, a southern Michigan town, on Friday afternoon. Strangely, the boys (Tanner Skelton, 5, Alexander William Skelton, 7, and Andrew Skelton, 9) never appeared. Skelton said the reason he had left the boys with a woman had been to go commit suicide.

Skelton’s attempt at suicide was an unsuccessful one. Currently, he is being held in a mental health facility. Whether or not he may be facing criminal charges is currently up to speculation. Additionally, police are attempting to refute Skelton’s claim, saying that he has no “established relationship” with any woman named Joann Taylor. Authorities went as far as to surmise this woman was nonexistent.

Hope has been diminishing for authorities. The FBI has attempted to reach for public assistance.

Andy Arena, a special agent with the FBI, said on Sunday: "We need calls. We need tips. Anything that's out there, no matter how incredible you may think it is, call. Let us know," he said.

Police say Tanner is 3 feet, 6 inches tall with strawberry blond hair and blue eyes, and weighs about 40 pounds. Alexander is 3 feet, 9 inches tall, has brown hair and eyes, weighs about 45 pounds and has scars on his hairline and chin. The oldest brother, Andrew, is 4 feet, 1 inch tall, has brown hair and eyes and weighs roughly 57 pounds.

Police and investigators are pessimistic towards a positive outcome. The search that began at Thanksgiving is ongoing, and the father is in custody until further notice.
