During the last home game of every football season, the entire varsity football team, cheerleaders, and senior band members are honored for their hard work and dedication to the Lions. However, this year the traditional “Parent Night” had a different spin. To directly identify the people who had been with the Lions and a part of Friday night football for four years, the seniors were recognized. This year, “Senior Night” was on November 5th, and showcased the battle between the Teague Lions and Trinity Tigers.

The night began with the introduction of the senior football boys. (1) Jaylin Gibson, (9) Ronard Nemons, (10) Ryan Lawrence, (11) Jared Phillips, (12) Jake McClain, (18) Wade Veneble, (20) Andres Diaz, (22) T.J. Kaminski, (23) Cord Bizor, (24) Devnte’ Owens,  (30) Fernando Zambrano, (5) Jake Pickens, (53) Jake Joplin, (57) Mark Shirley, (61) Corey Cowart, (65) Cullen Holmes, (67) Corey Christle, (73) Johnnie Johnson, (84) and Timmy Campbell were escorted through the inflatable football helmet by their parents or close friends to the applauds and cheers of the crowd.

The varsity cheerleaders were also recognized. Sarah Wadrip, Lindsay Hayes, Katie Burleson, Ry’Neshia Brooks, Madison Watson, Brittnee Ransburger, Haley Guerrero, Sarah Dawson, Morgan Sims, and Mascot Lacie Casaubon followed the footballs through the inflatable.

The night continued with the actual football game, and the varsity Lions represented Teague well during the first half by gaining a lead.

At half time, the “True Pride of Freestone County,” performed the last two songs of their “Rock Phases” show. Then the senior band members left the field and proceeded to the track for the Band Beau and Band Sweetheart custom. Antwond Burrell, Megan Cockerham, Stephen Davenport, Brandy Dixon, Brionna Fisk, Travis Fogelman, Brent Hayworth, Markie Hertel, Ryan Lawrence, Renee Looney, Katelyn Mehringer, Kelly Mushinski, Ronard Nemons, James Owens, Sam Remmers, Kamela Thompson, and Natalie Yeaman were all given flowers for their mothers and directed down the track for pictures.

Senior night continued with the remainder of the games and was brought to a close with another victory by the Lions.

The seniors have done a great job representing the school and are the epitome of spirit. The seniors have the opportunity to be a part of the football season a little longer due to the Lions victory against the Tigers. The playoff game will be at the Waco ISD stadium November 13th.
