On Saturday, March 27, the Teague Lion Tennis Team traveled to Corsicana to compete in the 7^th Annual Rice High School Tennis Tournament. Several players competed. There were two Teague entries in the Varsity Girls Singles, one entry in the Varsity Boys Doubles, one entry in Varsity Mixed Doubles, two entries in JV Girls Singles, one entry in JV Boys Singles, and one entry in JV Boys Doubles. The results are as follows:

Varsity Girls Singles:

Genea Cannon- 8-1 (win); 4-8 (loss)

Natalie Yeaman- 8-1 (win); 3-8 (loss)

Varsity Boys Doubles:

Cullen Holmes/Fernando Zambrano- 8-1 (win); 8-7 (win); 3-8 (loss); 4-8 (loss)

Varsity Mixed Doubles:

Taylor Hamilton/Lindsay Hayes- 8-0 (win); 8-2 (win); 8-4 (win)

JV Girls Singles:

Sophany Thach- 6-1 (win); 1-6 (loss)

Tiffany Thompson- 2-6 (loss); 6-4 (win)

JV Boys Singles:

James Owens- 7-5 (win); 4-6 (loss)

Kelton Henderson- 6-4 (win); 2-6 (loss)

JV Boys Doubles:

Jake Joplin/Ronard Nemons- 5-7 (loss); 6-0 (win)

Cullen Holmes and Fernando Zambrano placed fourth in Varsity Boys Doubles. Taylor Hamilton and Lindsay Hayes placed first in the Varsity Mixed Doubles and Jake Joplin and Ronard Nemons placed second in the JV Boys Doubles. Everyone that went played hard and played well. Coach Satterwhite said “Everyone played hard, and brought in several wins for the Teague Lions. I am proud of my team and I have full confidence that several people will advance out of district.”
