On Friday, March 12^th, 2010 the Teague Lion Power-Lifters traveled to Rusk, Texas for the official weigh-in for the Region 3 Division III power-lifting meet. Junior Fernando Zambrano, Senior Alejo Diaz, Freshman Kelton Henderson and Senior Tevin Busby all made their required weight and returned to the hotel a good night’s rest. The next morning it was show time. Zambrano competed in the 132-pound weight class but was scratched after failing to complete a bench press. Diaz competed in the 165-pound weight class and took fourth place but did not qualify for the state meet. Henderson qualified in the 198-pound weight, but because he failed to complete a squat lift, he was also scratched from the meet. Busby competed in the 220-pound weight class. He took first place and will lift at the state meet in Abilene, Texas on March 27^th. Taran Feniuck and Wade Venable also attended the meet as wrappers for the lifters. Coach Moore did a great job preparing these young men for the meets and led them to a successful season.
