On February 25^th, 2010, the Teague High School Power-Lifting took a short trip to Fairfield seeking to add to its regional team. In the 148-pound weight class, Tanner Perales took seventh place and fell short of qualifying for the regional meet. In the 165, Christian Henson took eighth place but did not qualify for the regional meet; Alejo Diaz took first place and was already qualified for the meet. With a great effort, Kelton Henderson won the 198-pound weight class and qualified for the regional meet. In the 220-pound weight class, Jonny Johnson took fifth place, Gary Dyer took seventh but neither of these young men qualified. Tevin Busby won the 220-pound weight class and was already qualified for the regional meet. Jose Diaz took sixth place in the 242-pound weight class but he did not qualify for the regional meet. The Lions took fifth place overall. Fernando Zambrano, Alejo Diaz, Kelton Henderson and Tevin Busby will travel to Rusk, Texas on March 12-13 for the regional meet. Zambrano will compete in the 132-pound weight class, Diaz will compete in the 165 class, Henderson will compete in the 198 class, and Busby will compete in the 220-pound weight class.
