On March 4^th, 2010 the Teague Lion Band traveled to Groesbeck High School to perform their concert music and compete in the Annual UIL Sight Reading Competition. After several months of practicing, the band performed their music, El Espiritu de Valencia, Catch the Wind, and Contemo, for a panel of judges and an audience. “We sounded amazing.  All the little bobbles that were normally present when we practiced disappeared on the stage,” Brandy Dixon said.
    After the band finished playing their concert music, they were moved to the sight reading room to play a piece they had never seen before for another panel of judges. “We partially fell apart in the sight reading room. In one measure we we’re supposed to enter in together as a band, but we got confused and started playing at different times. We pulled it together, but it definitely wasn’t our best performance,” said Katelyn Mehringer.
    The band received straight ones for both their concert music, and, despite, their mistakes in the sight reading room, also received straight ones.
