Modern Warfare 2, a videogame with more action than any other game, hit stores with a bang on Nov. 11.

Because it is the new addition to the popular Call of Duty franchise, people had high expectations for Modern Warfare 2.

Did it meet these high expectations?

Absolutely.

Call of Duty’s game developer, Infinity Ward, did a fantastic job of making Modern Warfare 2 both better than and different from any other shooter game out there.

Playing the game, really feels like fighting on a battlefield.

The game’s striking graphics are what make it so realistic. It has the best visuals of all the games I’ve ever played.

I can see every detail of the guns in the game.

The game uses the in-house IW 4.0 game engine, allowing for enhanced graphic detail.

Aside from graphics, the game has superb audio.

The explosions and gun noises all sound authentic, making the game seem like an actual battle.

Not only is the game realistic, it’s fun also.

There are three modes in Modern Warfare 2, allowing for hours of exciting game play.

One of these three modes, multiplayer, is an enjoyable mode where gamers can play against other gamers online and improve their rank in the virtual world.

In the multiplayer mode, players can customize their characters’ equipment and weapons, allowing for hundreds if not thousands of possible combinations.

Another mode, Spec Ops, is completely new.

Spec Ops is the first appearance of a mode in the Call of Duty franchise that allows for two-player cooperative game play.

In Spec Ops, two friends can play locally or online, fighting off hordes of enemies and achieve objectives.

The final mode, Campaign, also known as the story, is action-packed and a lot of fun.

The Campaign takes place five years after the conclusion of Call of Duty 4.

In the Campaign, you play as multiple soldiers that try to stop a Russian who is contesting against Europe by committing acts of terrorism.

While the game is great, it did have a few letdowns.

First, the Campaign of Modern Warfare 2 was a tad too short.

On average, you could complete the Campaign in about five-and-half-hours on the lowest, difficulty and most games should be about 10 hours long.

Another minus was that the story line of the game isn’t very well-told and needs a little work.

When playing the Campaign, events are thrown at you and the story is told mostly at loading screens.

Besides these few bad points, overall Modern Warfare 2 is visually stunning and the game play is fun and exciting.

It is easily one of the best shooter games of all time-a must-have for all gamers.

I give Modern Warfare 2 a 9.5 out of 10.

Modern Warfare 2 is available for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC at $59.99.
