“I always wanted to work with kids so I could feel like I made a difference in their lives, or feel like I at least tried to,” Mrs. Bejarano joyfully stated.

In case you didn’t know, Mrs. Bejarano is a new edition to Dysart High School this year, she teaches Frosh Focus, and Human and Social Services. She is also the head coach of the varsity softball team here at the high school. Bejarano herself has been a teacher for four years now. She began her teaching career in this district, and enjoyed it so much that she decided to stay on and teach at the high school.

When asked if she knew that she always wanted to be a teacher Mrs. Bejarano said, “I wasn’t always sure that I wanted to be a teacher, but I always knew that I wanted to work with kids.” She went on to say that she made the decision from friends and family encouraging her career change. Before Bejarano was a teacher she worked at a residential treatment center as a counselor, and then went on to work with special education children and adults.

When asked if she would change anything about the way she taught she had this to say, “I wouldn’t really change anything about the way I taught, but I would really like to see some of the students more motivated to learn.”

If Bejarano isn’t busy here on our campus, she likes to spend time with her husband and two kids. She stated that she is a very family oriented person, and that it is one of the main reasons that she wanted a career that dealt with kids.

When the time comes for Mrs. Bejarano to retire she has plans to travel the world, and volunteer as a substitute teacher, or volunteer at various hospitals.
