Once again, the lyricist Tupac Shakur has released another album. Of course Tupac himself didn’t release the album, since the rap artist passed away seven years ago. It’s a remix album with some of his best songs. For years I’ve looked at Tupac as an artist who really expressed what he felt. His style stayed true to the image he had first represented, it never adapted into the typical now-a-day, sell-out rapper. But now 2pac’s new album “Nu Mixx Klazzics” has changed my whole perspective on his music.

When I first bought the “Nu Mixx Klazzics,” I was excited because I now had a new 2pac album. When the first song began (2 of americaz most wanted) I was so disappointed because they destroyed a classic rap song. The beat was a typical now-a-day, up in the club beat, and Snoop Dogg’s lyrics were replaced by a less fortunate rapper. How could they do such a thing, and as I listened on I became more and more angry. I wasn’t angry at 2pac, his lyrics were the same as they were before; I was angry at the producers trying to improve his music, when really they’re just turning it into crap.

Only one song caught my attention, number seven (Toss it up) because 2pac’s voice is louder at the end of the song. On the original version you could barely hear his voice, this disappointed me because he’s dissing P.Diddy, Lil Kim, and the rest of the Bad Boy staff. But on this new version, you could hear his diss nice and clear. Even though I was disappointed, I tried to ignore the fact that these songs were demolished; yet one song I could not make an acception for the change they made on it.

It was the greatest diss song of all time, being performed by 2pac and the Outlawz. “Hit em’ up,” a diss track to the whole Bad Boy staff and other East Coast rappers. But once I heard this new remix version, that’s when I knew there would never be another great 2pac album being released. To tell the truth, I noticed 2pac’s music being destroyed since two alums back on “Until the end of time.” “Better Dayz” was just a waste of my money, and now this “Nu Mixx Klazzics” has finished the job of killing off 2pac’s music.

Any real 2pac fan would know that these beat producers are trying to gain fame off of 2pac’s lyrics. I think this album is just a profit making project, off of this great rappers old school gangster rap tracks. I love Tupac Shakur’s lyrics and I always will, but these new beats have to go. All these new up in the club beats, don’t mix well with this mans lyrics. To end this, I would have to say that this is one of the worst 2pac albums to ever be released.
