For Alexandra Sellers, growing up into a senior at Beckman High School was something that she will never forget. With all the people she met and her involvement in school activities, Sellers was able to experience many different aspects of high school life. Sellers describes her role at Beckman High School as well as her plans for her future.

Being the ASB Vice President, Sellers has devoted herself to attending all of the events and organizing them as best as she possibly can. Her ability to keep things organized and make sure jobs are run smoothly has allowed her to keep things together. One of the latest events she took part in organizing was “Every 15 Minutes.” “Every 15 Minutes” is a national event, in which only juniors and seniors are able to participate, that acts out a scene where a teenage drunk driver kills his/her friends and deals with the difficult aftermath that follows. This year, Sellers was the leader for the event and she had to get many things accomplished in order for it to take place. She had to get connected with the Irvine Police Department, make the video involving the pre-scene before the accident, and find the actors. Sellers commented, “'Every 15 Minutes’ was one of the biggest events that I had organized and had one of the greatest impacts on my life, as well as many other students. I learned a lot from this experience, not only the planning side, but also the dangers of drunk driving.” Although many students did not see what happened after the “dead” were taken to the hospital, Sellers and the “dead” were given the opportunity to tour the police department, the mortuary, and eat lunch at the police station.

Outside of school, Sellers has also been a part of Assisteens of Santa Ana, where she has held the titles of treasurer and secretary. Assisteens of Santa Ana is an organization where teens help by selling goods in a thrift store and donating the money towards dental and eye care for the needy in Santa Ana. She is also part of a program called the School Bell, where moms and teens are able to collect money from fundraisers and go buy backpacks, clothes, school utensils, and other school goods for the kids that need them.

As for next year, Sellers has been accepted into the University of Southern California and has declared an accounting major, which ultimately will lead to some aspect of business. Sellers added, “I wanted to become a businessman; I especially want to own hotels and manage them.” Sellers is anticipating her future life to be difficult and full of challenges, but also fun at the same time. She would like to gain new friends and experiences that will help her throughout her career.

Sellers is the person that she is today because she has learned to be positive and work through difficult situation. With her visits to the beach, the gym, and all of USC’s football games, the four years of Alexander Sellers' high school experience have ended with amazing results. Sellers advised, “Be involved and make the high school career fun and enjoyable because the four years go by really fast.”
