What’s the latest musical highlight of 2008? Without a doubt, it’s <i>Dark Horse</i>, the sixth album from Nickelback and the second best selling album of the month.  The Canadian rock band has produced yet another successful album, selling over 16 million copies.

Nickelback hardly needed to call their latest album <i>Dark Horse</i> -- fans all over the world are already salivating at the thought of a new round of the group's thunderous music. With 11 new tracks, hearty-throated singer Chad Kroeger and company faithfully serve up party animal songs such as ''Burn It to the Ground,'' ''This Afternoon,'' and ''Shakin' Hands.'' The albumends with grand power ballads "Gotta Be Somebody" and "If Today Was Your Last Day."

There are 11 tracks to choose from, five of which are worthy of listening to. "Gotta Be Somebody," "Next Go Round," "Never Gonna Be Alone," "Shakin’ Hands," and "Just to Get High" are clearly the best tracks on the album.  The song "Gotta Be Somebody" is a great example of rock music, even though it boasts a ballad-y twist.  It’s not the type of music that head-bangers would enjoy though, because it can really soothe the listener. "Next Go Round" is the best bit of rock music on this album anf is a song that anyone can enjoy, especially metal-core fans. "Never Gonna Be Alone" is a mixture of ballad and rock music.  It’s soft, yet there is still a rock vibe in it. "Just to Get High" has meaningful lyrics with an addictive melody and tells about the dangers of drug use.

Some of the songs contained sexual content that might be unsuitable and inappropriate for some Patriots. However, for music lovers who love to focus on melody, this album is definitely worth checking out.
