IRVINE- On September 28, local radio station 93.1 Jack FM threw its third annual yearly show, featuring bands such as Devo, Blondie, Reo Speedwagon, Psychedelic Furs, Low Rider, and Twisted Sister. Most spectators turned out to see rock sensation Billy Idol snarl on the Irvine Verizon Wireless Amphitheater stage.

The doors opened for the show at 2pm, and there were many sorts of people there. Michelle Cullinan remarked, “It was like reliving the 80’s all in one night. Most of the people there looked young and retro.” The show was meant for all ages, so it could be enjoyed by everyone. The concert was held in an outside venue which holds thousands of people, many of which decided to purchase lawn seating.

The concert started off with tribute bands, exciting the crowd. Once the tributes were done, the Psychedelic Furs came on, marking the start of the main attractions of the day. When the first band was done, Twisted Sister came on, prompting fist pumping and head-banging throughout the audience. Blondie, one of the top bands back in the day, took the stage, performing some of her top hits, including "Call Me." When Blondie was over, REO Speedwagon came on and delighted the crowd. Billy stole women’s hearts, performing a partially acoustic version of his hit single, "White Wedding." Sammi Seligman proclaimed, "Billy Idol was amazing! His guitarist was a rock god, who, at one point, even played behind his head with his eyes shut." Devo ended the night. Many of the audience members stayed to hear their famous single "Whip It," but, since most came for Idol, the crowd slowly dwindled away.
