The ballots are counted, and the results are in. The 2012-2013 class cabinet elections, and subsequent run-offs, are over and we’re left with what looks like, according to Camille Adana, excellent 2012-2013 class cabinets.

Election results took longer than usual, as multiple run-offs had to take place before the final winners could be announced. Even then, some elections remained tied to the very end. After two rounds of voting, Emma Christ and Rory Cambell, and Trent Lowder and Gio McGrath remained tied at 137 votes each for Junior Class Vice-Presidents, giving the Juniors four vice presidents in the coming school year.

The ladies hold a vast majority in the class cabinets next year having won 27 out of the 38 positions available. The student body cabinet is completely female, with the exception of President-Elect Ethan Livermore.

“I can’t wait until next year,” said Junior publicity representative, Emma Brown. “Everybody is going to do such a great job, and we’re already thinking about hall decs. It should be a lot of fun, and I think we’re going to be really effective.” All the newly-elected class cabinet representatives seem to agree that next year, they see the class cabinets taking a bigger role in the school. Cali Hodge, elected to the Junior class cabinet, said, “We want to do more fundraising, so that we can do more for the school. It’s also important for us to increase student participation at the school in school events, and extracurricular activities.”

Alex Dang, current leadership member said of the new class cabinets, “I know a lot of the student who will be representing the school on the class cabinets next year, and I think they’ll do a great job. Cleveland students should be excited.”
