Why should you wear a seatbelt? Many people make sure it’s the first thing they do when they enter a vehicle. Others just forget about it like it is nothing, but seatbelt could save your life and your money. It is smart to wear a seatbelt because it can save your life, it is the law, and it is less harmful to wear one than to not.

If you were in a car accident and you were not wearing your seatbelt, the repercussions could be serious. A seatbelt is meant to stop your body when the car is suddenly stopped. If the seatbelt wasn’t there, your body would continue to move forward, while the car has stopped. A seatbelt could be the one thing keeping your face from meeting the windshield. You should wear a seatbelt because it could save your life in a car accident.

Aside from saving your life, a seatbelt is a good thing to wear because it is the law. If a police man sees anyone not wearing their seatbelt he will pull them over. Buckling your seatbelt takes less than ten seconds and is definitely not worth a ticket. Also, if you get pulled over for another reason and you had forgotten to buckle up by the time an officer gets to your window he will write you up for not wearing your seatbelt on top of what you were already getting pulled over for.

The last reason you should wear a seatbelt is because it is less harmful to wear one than to not. Many people do not wear their seatbelts because they are scared that if they were in an accident, they couldn’t get out, but a seatbelt will easily come undone if needed. Sometimes people worry about what would happen to their body being held back at great forces. A few bruises would be the only things you’d get wearing your seatbelt in an accident. That sounds much better than flying through the windshield.

In conclusion, nothing good can come out of not wearing your seatbelt. Would you want to pay for a ticket for not doing something that takes five seconds? You could even end up paying with you life for not buckling up. It is a good idea to wear your seatbelt because it can save you life, it is the law, and it is less harmful to wear one than to not.
