Freshman Gustavo Porta munches on a pastelito. - Nicole Landa

Crazy for bagels and pastelitos? Many students buy one or the other every day.

Every morning  in the hallways you see students rushing to go buy either a bagel or pastelito before the bell rings. Most days the bagels and the pastelitos are all sold out by last lunch.

This craze for bagels and pastelitos is actually good because all the money received is given to a club or to the school's athletic department.

People can't get enough of these  delicious snacks.  "Guava pastelitos remind me of Brazil," Freshmen Gustavo Porto says. He said he eats at least four pastelitos a day, also that he prefers pastelitos over bagels.

Another pastelito lover is sophomore Dianna Chericlet.  "I'm in love with the sugar and cheese it drives me crazy!" she says.

It's not all about the pastelitos though. Plenty of students prefer bagels. Freshman Jordana Bettencourt can't not have one a day."They're so soft I can't resist it."
