On October 22, Litchfield Park Elementary School held its annual Fall Carnival.

Ghost, witches, zombies, cowgirls, ninjas, dead brides, pumpkins and even a rubix cube roamed the halls and fields of Litchfield Elementary School.

The Fall Carnival was started by the Litchfield Elementary School PTA as a safe alternative to trick-or-treating and has now evolved into an annual event for the whole community.

“I like the [bounce] houses,” stated young Madeline R., in reference to the many bounce houses available for the kids. The festival also included sixteen different booths of fun for kids to enjoy, a silent auction, a costume contest, as well as two fire trucks and a SWAT truck for presentation, and two Thiller performances.

Several businesses, like Morrisette Martial Arts Center, were also in attendance, in addition to food vendors; Subway, Pizza Hut, Sugar and Spice and Jamba Juice.

An event of this magnitude usually takes months to plan, however “it took three weeks”, says PTA President Lisa Velazquez. However, due to the help from parents, local businesses and many volunteers they were able to pull through. Even so, with such short planning time, the event was a success and in the words of Jennifer Spiak, a teacher at Palm Valley Elementary” It [was] great fun [and] a great time.”
