On Wednesday, October 20, Millennium Student Council hosted the 1st annual co-ed volleyball tournament ranging from students to teachers joined together in the schools gym at 7:30pm to challenge each other in a double elimination tournament that went on till 11pm.

The winning team was Serious Stuff; it consisted of Coach Derek Drumtra, Ms. Andrea Hudson, Ms. Julie Vastine, Ms. Leslie George, Mr. Mike Lopez, Ms. Vikki Terrell, and Mr. Sergio Valazquez, the final exciting matches were against Swag So Official, a team of the varsity baseball players. After losing in the 1st meeting, the teachers rallied to win two straight matches in order to win the championship. Serious Stuff was honored at the pep rally with their trophy.

“We were the best team playing, and we should have won,” says senior team member Swag So Official, Tatum Hendrix.

Did Serious Stuff think they were going to win? Team member Coach Drumtra says, “Of course we were going to win, all of us are ringers.”

All the teams did their best with playing hard and having fun; and for a good cause. The $2.00 per person admission fee went to student council so they could pay for the dance DJ and a deposit for winter formal.
