The truth is we Americans are so far from power in our country (remember, for the people, by the people) it’s revolting. Our democracy has transformed into an oligarchy (one ran by the rich), which keeps the power from the rightful, birth-entitled people of America.
Each generation becomes less sovereign with our rights and coincides fruitlessly with our government’s one-sided inclinations. This apathy lets the government exceed beyond taciturn and even more so disgrace our constitution by ignoring our forefather’s written word!
We infrequently can invoke our freedom of speech, which was strategically written as THE FIRST AMENDMENT FOR A REASON; furthermore, we can't bear arms or feel secure in our own personal property. Well, not without an additional fear of being seized – and imprisoned indefinitely – by the government without cause. These two birth rights as Americans are both supposed to be protected by our beloved constitution. Unfortunately, the same beloved constitution seems to lose its potency with each new presidential administration.
Moreover, every other institution or amendment our forefathers set forth is trampled upon every day.
We the people need to invoke our emasculated power to legitimize our once righteous country and stop criticizing what our vile government is accomplishing. Big Brother only wants one thing and that’s a country where no one questions its actions and it has complete power to keeps us in a proletarian society, where 90 percent of the wealth is held in 10 percent of the populations accounts. We must vanquish the government’s reign upon our life and our rights. Our forefathers took our country from British rule and then transformed it into one of, if not the most, prosperous and affluent countries in the world – with pride, wisdom, and intellect. Nevertheless, over the last century the government’s ambitions have become distorted with disregard for the common person and their rights. We common people must band together to form an immovable force which cannot be denied by regulations and laws. In order to be free, revitalization of our true amendments must be instituted with explicit laws to prohibit any change or abuse of those ordinances.
“All government without the consent of the governed is the very definition of slavery,” affirmed writer Jonathan Swift. Swift declared this more than two centuries ago and today there hasn’t been amelioration due to our dearth of courage for revolution.
“In democracy we vote for official’s policies not them, however, we receive them without their policies,” expounded Maplewood senior Charlcie Jones. Thus, we are enslaved by our oppressive government because we do not have consent of the governed. We vote for officials, but have never received their policies with any verisimilitude, much less as they are articulated.
Deracination of slavery ensued hundreds of years ago, but we Americans are enslaved to this day because we have not forced the government to work for our supreme interests. It is finally time to begin our inexorable battle to nullify our government’s greed, self-centered aspirations, and most importantly the exploitation of our FREEDOM!
