WOMENS TENNIS
Jason Grubaugh returns for
his ninth year of coaching.
“We finished middle of the
pack last year, and this year I
think we’ll do even better,” says
Grubaugh. He looks forward to
the girls’ match against Vicksburg.
Grubaugh advises interested
girls to “get out and run.”

WOMENS SOCCER
After last season’s state
championship, head coach Chad
Wiseman has high expectations
for the womens soccer team.
“Last year’s team had great
leadership, and this season we’re
just as talented as we were last
year, if not more,” says Wiseman.
Wiseman aims to win
the Wolverine Conference and
compete for a second state title.

TRACK
After qualifying for state last
season, CJ Hillstead ‘12 looks to
lead the mens track team to success
in the conference. Coach
Scott Evans is excited to see
everyone take part in track this
year and hopes to finish better
in the conference than last year.
Since there aren’t tryouts, Evans
hopes to see fresh talent emerge.
Also qualifying for state last
season, Mackenzie Evers ‘14 set
two school records as a freshman,
and hopes to continue her
success this season. This year
they are hoping to improve on
last year’s record and send more
people to state.
“People to look for are Chloe
Thiel ‘12, Haley Betts ‘15, Cara
Minto ‘13, Kyrstin George ‘14,
and Mackenzie Evers to be big
point winners this season,” said
Coach Matt Evers.

MENS GOLF
With five returning varsity
members, the mens golf team
looks to succeed. Anthony
Davis 13’, and Peter Torres 13’
lead the team, while Axel Schele
12’ from Sweden will also help
the team.
“If the guys can play to their
potential we will surprise many
teams in the Wolverine Conference”
said Coach Scott Cool.

BASEBALL
With a senior-heavy team,
Coach Chris Taylor wants to
grab the conference title. Last
year the team stuggled with a
7-11 season, but this year Taylor
is excited. “We have seven
returning players. We will have
good senior leadership,” says
Taylor. A tip Taylor says that
being in shape is important for
the sesason. “Throw, hit and
run. If you’re not in shape it will
stand out,” says Taylor.

SOFTBALL
Coach Bob Farris is excited
for his first season as softball
coach. After the departure of
five-year coach Ritch Harrison,
the program is rebuilding.
“We have many good candidates
that are trying out for this
years team,” says Farris. Farris’
background of coaching baseball
should help him set up the
season. With a strong core of
returning seniors, Farris hopes to
develop the program.
