Sometimes people feel like
they just need a break. They
need a chance to relax and recharge.
Where can one find such
a place?
A new local spa, the Lotus,
recently introduced itself to
Plainwell. Finally, a local place
where beauty-seekers can drop
their problems at the door and
be worry free for as long as their
hearts desire.
Jennifer Maher traveled from
the big city of Miami, FL, and
took on the task of creating a
spa called “Lotus.”
“I got the name from Thailand
after vacationing there. I
learned that the society would
take Buddha’s Lotus flower to
represent renewal and peace.
I thought it would fit the spa
wonderfully,” said Maher.
One can find that renewal
and peace at Maher’s new spa.
The spa offers a wide range of
beauty services. For those who
want a fresh new haircut for the
spring, a golden summer glow
before Spring Break, or a smile
transformed into a pearly white
explosion, the Lotus has it.
Every spa transformation you
can think of is available at a cost
most anyone can afford. Now
locals won’t have to travel far
wasting gas, or spend too much
to meet their beauty needs. PHS
student Paige Bowden ’13 is
extremely excited to try out the
new spa.
“I’m glad someone’s doing
something to help this boring
city become alive again,” said
Bowden. Most anyone can agree
with that.
The spa originally opened
Friday, March 2 but had a grand
opening on St. Patrick’s Day,
March 17 with sales and specials.
Maher and her team are offering
one of a kind deals that
can’t be passed up.
So if you’re looking for something
fun and exciting to do,
take a hike over to downtown’s
newest, soon-to-be successful
business to get glammed up and
refreshed.
