Yummy Popcorn!!!!!:p - Hailey Irwin

Cupid's Carnival just happened February 24, 2012! Students came with their friends and didn't worry about having a date just because it was for Valentine’s. They just came and had fun. The dance was on the blacktop, not in the activity room. From the music, to the games, to the snacks, it was an awesome dance.

The tickets were $5, which included all of the games, like inflatable games, a velcro wall, rock climbing wall, bungee races, and more.  Snacks that were sold there didn’t include the five dollars you paid for the ticket and the games. The snacks were not sold by ASB, but by a variety of clubs including Yearbook, Journalism, and AVID, who sold snacks such  as snow cones, popcorn, soda, cotton candy, and regular candy. They were all about 1.00$- 2.00$.

The decorations, provided by ASB, were be colorful chalk considering the dance was outside on the blacktop in the middle of the lunch area. The dance was for all grades, 6th, 7th and 8th

Here are some comments on how some of the students felt about the dance in 7th grade: Hailey Irwin couldn't wait to hear the awesome music. Gabby Cabrara loved the music. Ashlyn Omahen loved hanging out with her friends, and loved dancing to awesome music. Ben Lolly-Wilson liked the music.  Elyse Stern liked the food, music, and hanging out with friends. 6th grader Cassidy McCartney loved the food - specifically snow cones, the rock wall, and the Velcro wall.

In an interview before the dance, ASB Advisor, Mr. Resley said he was looking forward to, “seeing Standley students have fun, dance and be proud being a Seahawk.” Also, he continued, “You don’t have to dance at the dance if you don’t want to there are plenty of other things to do."

Finally I think the dance was really fun, the snacks were awesome, I loved the games. It was really fun. And, If you went there, you would know too.
