Witches, chili peppers, Egyptians…oh my!!

                On Monday, November 16, the concert  band, percussion,and jazz band performed at 7:00 p.m. at our community center.

                Each ensemble performed four numbers, with the concert band kicking off the evening. They played Fanfare and Flourishes, The Nutmeggers, Forgotten Dreams and The Witch and the Saint.

                “Witch and the Saint was definitely my favorite!” said Janae Dawson.

                The percussion performed a clapping number and, along with two others, they played Walk Like an Egyptian.

                Ashley Clayson said the percussions clapping ong was way cool.

                Jazz band also played four songs; Bill Bailey Wont You Please Come Home, The Flight of the Floobirds, Blue Flame and The Night of the Living Chili Pepper.

                “Everything about the jazz band was great,” said Clayson.

                Soloist Kage Allen, said, “The moment before you play your solo, your heart is beating like a chimpanzee!”

                Janae Dawson, Ashley Clayson, Crystal Boatright, and Cody Dean all agreed that the concert bands last song, The Witch and the Saint, was one of the best of the evening.

                Boatright went on to say “My favorite part of the concert was when the jazz band performed; we did freakin’ awesome!”

                “If you didn’t have a chance to come support us on our first concert, make sure to come next time! You will not leave dissatisfied!” said senior concert and jazz band member, Hillary Fowler.
