Did you know that in 1929 M.J. "Jack" Burchett, was the one who first started snowboarding.

He started it by cutting out a plank of plywood and secured his feet with a length of clothesline and horse reins. Thus the first snowboard was invented.

Even to day if that was the way it was, it would probably still be just as popular. Did you know the snowboard was originally called the "winterstick". The rest as they say is history.

You can never be too old to snowboard. George Blair (aka Banana George) of Winter Haven Florida, took up snowboarding at 75 years old, and he is now 86. He snowboards between 45 and 60 days a year. Let's see if you can stand on your own at that age.

The best place to snowboard is at St. Mary's Glacier, this is the place for year round snow in Colorado. That's not that far away, so get your gear and have fun.
