Joy Cart drive collects nearly 600 items

The Jarrett’s Joy Cart drive has come to a successful conclusion. Nearly 600 items were collected for the cart drive, coordinated at Trinity by Mr. John Kahl.
Many Trinity students and teachers participated in some way. Various advising groups held raffles, auctions and breakfasts to help raise funds. Other individuals contributed cash or walked their neighborhoods to collect toys for the drive. One young man even brought in more than 200 matchbox cars.
The real benefactors of the generosity are the patients at Kosair; they send their thanks.

Language students visit Hawthorne Elementary

Trinity Spanish teacher Mrs. Maria Rocha and a group of juniors and seniors took a trip to Hawthorne Elementary to narrate and perform fairy tales in Spanish.
Rocha said, "The students dressed up, memorized the dialogue and presented the stories to kindergarten and first-grade students." Seniors Patrick Condon and Travis Stewart wrote a play called "El Pez De Oro," which means "The Golden Fish."
Condon said, "It was a lot of fun. We performed for these little kids and had a lot of laughs."

Dadds, Hancock collect shoes for needy

Trinity seniors Alex Dadds and Brian Hancock are collecting tennis shoes of all sizes for children in need through the organization Soles4Souls.
Dadds and Hancock got the idea for the service project last fall while running cross country for Trinity. The students came into contact with former University of Louisville cross country team member and All-American Wesley Korir. A native of Kenya and a professional runner, Korir had much help in getting to the U.S. He now works to return the many favors he received by performing acts of kindness to others.

Burton accepted to West Point

Senior Nick Burton has been accepted to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Burton hasn’t always known that West Point was going to be the place he would continue his education. His father was an influence because he has served in the Army.
The thought of attending the United States Military Academy hasn’t completely set in. Burton describes it as "surreal."
As Burton nears the end of his academic career at Trinity, he claims that "this is only the beginning."
