Today’s temperature is currently 37 degrees.

This may not mean anything to you, but it should.

This time of the year, the weather gets cold, snow starts to fall and people wear more layers of clothing.

However, as I’ve begun to learn, at Shores when the weather starts to drop, people start to drop their clothing as well.

Now if you’re like me, once the weather hits about 55 degrees, you start wearing multiple layers.

Then, if you happen to be like the other roughly 35 percent of the student body, as soon as the thermometer hits 55, you start wearing miniskirts, tank tops and shorts.

If there is a single human being who can explain this insanity to me, I would greatly appreciate it.

I, for one, still cannot rap my mind around the fact that you would want to get hypothermia and look “cute” or “cool” instead of dressing sensibly and not freezing to death.

Girls have now started the winter trend of wearing skirts and shorts with their winter boots instead of pants, and tank tops instead of sweaters.

Boys have also joined in on the insanity, though; they’re now starting to wear shorts all year long.

So when I’m sitting in class wearing my many layers and freezing and look over to the girl whose legs are exposed to the cold, it makes me even colder, and I know she must be begging for a blanket deep down inside.

Every time I see someone not dressed properly for the dropping temperatures, I simply want to give them a blanket and tell them to find some clothes before they get frostbite.

It may not be my place to judge, but it’s just one person looking out for another in this time of insanity we call winter.
