School is a place to learn, to meet new people, and to explore one’s individual talents. It is an environment where students can succeed.

However, doing well in school can sometimes be difficult, and students can become overwhelmed with stress.

“Students feel stress in school because many of them have other involvements, and this requires time management,” Principal Jennifer Bustard said.

She also explained that with time management comes figuring out a way to organize one’s day. If students think about everything they have to do at once, it would be almost impossible to get everything done.

“Students need to prioritize their day and chunk it into different sections,” Bustard said.

Besides being involved in extra activities outside of school, other things can affect a student and cause them stress too including personal problems.

“There can be outside stressors too with family and medical issues,” Bustard said.

In order to help students succeed in school and not have so much stress, there are some solutions to this dilemma.

“If students eat right, sleep enough, and exercise, they will feel much better about their day,” Bustard said.

Overall, students experience much stress in school, but they can help themselves with their stress by prioritizing their time and incorporating healthy habits into their life.
