President Obama quoted his way into office with many promises of reform and change. These words were heartfelt and recognized as a serious statement of dedication to make a difference for the better. The highest item on the list was his Health Care Reform.
The plan is estimated to cost between $50 and $65 billion, but this is to be covered by other saved costs, namely the discontinuation of President Bush’s tax cuts to people making over $250,000 per year. Obama and his committee worked long and hard to create his Heath Care Bill for Congress, and they developed a breakdown of its three main goals.
The three goals of Obama’s Health Care Bill are to provide quality, affordable, and portable health care for all; to modernize the U.S. Health Care System, lower costs and improve quality; and to promote prevention and strengthen public health. This is also estimated by his committee to save the average family an average of over $2,500 per year.
Other goals of this bill are to cut down on unnecessary medical technology spending, improve chronic condition prevention, increase insurance company competition, reduce insurance premiums, and make health care universal to cut down spending on uncompensated care. The question many people are asking is, “Will it work?” but that is just something we may just have to watch and find out.
