Abigail Villacarlos has a bright personality that makes the campus a better place to be around.
“She is amazing to be around  and always manages to brighten up my day. It’s her overwhelming optimism. No matter what she always seems happy,’’ senior Luis Langarica said.
She was born in Sacramento, Calif. and continued to move seven times before she came to her current home in Escondido.
Villacarlos came to Orange Glen after her father retired from the military.
Villacarlos is a senior and Vice President of Asian Pacific Islander club.
She has been involved in API, since her freshman year and takes great pride in being involved with this club.
“I made friends and I enjoyed the club and  because I am Filipino, so I kept going with it,” Villacarlos said.
They’re getting ready and working hard for their show on May 19, to show off their culture base club, with dancing, skits, and songs.
Though this club is a big deal to her it isn’t the biggest thing in her life.
Her schooling is very important to her being ranked No.11 and a studying study habit, plus being healthy keeps her successful in life.
The acceptance letters keep rolling in with; Cal State University of San Marcos, San Diego State University, and University California Irvine and Expecting many more to come.
She still is very unsure on where she wants to go, but college is in her future.
Villacarlos’ beliefs definitely shape her personality, with her ideas of health and fitness to guide through her day.
She loves food, expect she can’t stand bacon and greasy foods.
Her fitness background comes from the love for physical education and weight training that she finds her favorite subject in high school.
The gentle features of her facial expressions matches perfectly with her morals, that stealing is bad and her way of treating people kindly.
She is a very well-known person, with an appetite to compete with her big heart.
Villacarlos has a favorite quote, that she believes is true, it is said by Thomas Edison.
She thinks people don’t push themselves to their full potential.
“This quote inspires me to do my best, ‘If we did all the things we were capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves,’” Villacarlos said.
