Q: How do you feel about being the lead teacher of Arts and Communication?
A: Excited, because I have an opportunity to help direct my SLC while at the same time I get to know all Arts & Communication students that much better.
Q: What made you want to have the job as a lead teacher?
A: I like leadership opportunities, and this is one. In addition, I have wanted to work with the others leads (in whatever capacity) for a while. Now I get both.
Q: How do you feel about being a teacher and a lead teacher?
A: I know that it’s a challenge, but I look forward to the opportunity. I get to learn new things by being lead teacher, while at the same timekeeping my teaching skills sharp.
Q: How do you feel when students request for schedule changes?
A: I always welcome and love talking to students. If they want to talk about their schedules, when I’m not teaching, then I am all about just doing that. My basic approach to schedule change includes listening to a student’s concern, asking question to both the student and the student’s teachers (when appropriate) then making a collective decision that most benefits the student. Sometimes that decision is not what the student wants at that time, but that is not the focus of changing a schedule. Changing schedules is all about what’s best for the student.
