There are lots of expectations when first entering high school. Some expectations are high, while others are low. Movies commonly give middle school kids the idea that they can get away with doing only half the work, and that all teachers are mean and “out to get you.”

           Expectations of high school were relatively low for Destiny Jones and Jessica Ruether. They both had the common thought that high school would be more like in the movies with the “greaser,” bullying all of the underclassmen.

           Destiny and Jessica agreed that most of the upperclassmen are generally nice people - with the occasional senior that is a little too forceful for their comfort.Jessica is thankful for having some of the best teachers so far and can’t wait to graduate four years from now.

           The typical freshman usually works hard for only a semester, but Destiny enjoys the satisfaction of a job well done on a project or a good grade on a homework assignment.

           Both Destiny and Jessica plan to graduate on time with all of the required credits, and if they have the time, maybe a little extra. Both of these freshmen are hard workers, along with many of their classmates.
