The first athletic spotlight of the new school year is senior Ariana Scott. Scott is on the girls varsity volleyball team and is their No.1 blocker and a crucial leading hitter. She is also a middle blocker and a right side hitter. Scott has been playing volleyball for Mayfair since she was a freshman and has shown improvement every year.

“[Volleyball is] my everything, my passion, I live and breathe it,” Scott says while flashing a proud smile, “my mom pushes me and my brother pushes me to do better.”

When she isn’t on the volleyball court, Scott enjoys surrounding herself with positive people and hitting the beach with her friends and family. “She’s the kind of girl that, whatever she does, just likes to have fun,” Coach Bos says, “She’s very dynamic, she works hard, she’s fiery and I love coaching her.”

New varsity member, sophomore Raelynn Pito says, “Ariana is a team player who works to the best of her ability. She may have her days, but she knows when to push all her problems aside and work for the team.”

Scott is also senior class vice president, involved in the school yearbook, a member of YBS, and carries an honorable 3.0 G.P.A.
