This year, student and teacher pair have pledged to participate in this yearly time of whiskers and warm faces, along with thousands of others across the globe as a friendly competition. Senior Daniel Quezada says, “It takes a certain level of manliness to participate in this. Not every kid with peach fuzz should attempt this feat.” On biggerbetterbeards.org, listed under reasons you should grow a beard are, “Every beautiful woman you meet will want to touch, stroke and possibly frolic in your amazing beard,” and “In emergencies, it can keep you and your friends warm,” among eight other benefits of having a beard. One student and teacher have taken the holiday and turned it into a month-long competition to see who can grow the bigger beard: Quezada and Mr. Headley. Quezada adds, “I’m going to annhilate him in this. I am considered a Class-A man, unlike [Headley].” Mr. Headley contested Quezada’s comments with, “Talk is cheap.
