(April 5, 2012)--Clark’s Robotics team members Mgo Arabian, Vahe Baboomian, Alex Deravanessian, Leon Shishoian, and Will Spurgeon posed together with their neon pink and green team T-shirts on Team Day this week. “Mr. Black made the Robotics team wear the team T-shirts,” Shishoian said. “We didn’t mind wearing the shirts because of their bright colors that show our team spirit for robotics and our school spirit for Spirit Week.”

The freshmen of ASB organized Crazy Hair or Hat Day on Monday. Tuesday was Team Day, sponsored by the sophomore class. Wednesday was Twin Day and today’s Retro Day is scheduled to feature a game of Chubby Bunny sponsored by the juniors. Tomorrow, the last day before spring break, is traditionally Class Color Day. Freshmen and seniors wear black, sophomores wear white, and juniors wear green.

The freshmen of ASB said Monday’s theme was a success. “The previous years had Crazy Hat and Hair Day and they worked out well,” said ASB member Sabrina Galanis. “We wanted to keep it a tradition.” Class officers organized a no-hands jelly doughnut eating contest. Freshmen Robert Agajanian, Arka Mardirosian and ASB member Raffi Terteryan competed against each other. “I can’t say no to a free doughnut,” said freshman Mardirosian. “I wanted to be a champion and beat my friends, and I won.”

Each ASB member of different classes came to an agreement based on votes to create the different themes and games for each day of the week. Terteryan, who participated in the jelly doughnut eating contest, said, “My friends and I voted for Crazy Hair and Hat Day and it was a success.”

Tuesday’s theme was Team Day. Sophomore Artin Martirosyan wore his Barcelona soccer jersey. “I wore my jersey because I love the team. If I can’t watch Spain’s soccer games, I try to keep up with scores on my phone,” he said.

The DJ for the senior prom played music that will be used the night of the prom, but it was a treat for the rest of the classes to request songs. “Clark’s school spirit makes me dress for spirit week,” he said.
