(April 1, 1999) -- Teachers, students, and parents are anticipating the night Clark has its first Open House April 22. Clark is expecting many parents to attend due to the large number of people who attended Clark’s Dedication Ceremony in December.

"I’m excited to go see what kind of work my child is doing and in what environment she is studying," said an excited parent. Superintendent Jim Brown will speak at the 6 p.m. Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) meeting. In addition, the Kiwanis and Key Clubs will also prepare food to help the PTSA funding.

After the meeting the Key Club will have a formal charter presentation where the president of the Key Club will speak to the parents and explain some of the activities involving the club. Members of the club will be presented with certificates during this ceremony. After the PTSA meeting and the Key Club presentation, Clark’s first Open House begins. The Open House will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There is no specific order in which parents and students are supposed to visit the classes. Teachers will put up work done by the students around their rooms.

Students are encouraged to come to the Open House because it is a time for them to present their work to their family. Students may also want to preview classes they might have next year so they will have an idea of what to expect.

"At Back to School night there were many parents, and I would anticipate a large parent turnout for Open House because parents are supportive and interested at Clark," said Assistant Principal Joan Shoff. She also said that the students have done a very good job dealing with a new school, seven challenging classes and the block schedule.
