We read the article “Newly-Founded Armenian Club Evokes Controversy” and we are deeply depressed and angered at the segregation and bigotry contained in this article, [especially] the stereotypical picture of our Armenian club founded who was drawn with chest hair popping out and thick eyebrows. There was no need for this inappropriate article. Not only does it cause racial tension but it also segregates different cultures. In the article’s picture there was a different ethnic club’s founder about to fight with the Armenian club founder (hence the VS). There is no other ethnic club besides the Armenian club, so it would be impossible for the founders to fight anyway. Even if there is such an incident in the future the ICC will help stop those kinds of racial issues.

By writing this letter we are not trying to attack anyone personally, but merely we are trying to stop the ongoing stereotypes in our schools and communities. And if we do not receive an apology we will leave it up to you to do what is necessary and correct, not to please us but [out of] respect to the diversity at Clark, the many people who were offended and in [efforts] to end the racial tension at our school once and for all. We thank you for your time and hope [that] in the future we will send letters congratulating your efforts to integrate the diverse peoples of Clark Magnet High School and not [encourage] separation amongst the students.
