Seniors enjoy senior bbq in June. - Michelle Mack

(June 17, 2003) -- Seniors ran pushing each other toward the field after being dismissed 30 minutes early from their third period classes on Feb. 7 in hopes of reaching Clark's second annual Senior Barbeque sooner.

Hamburgers and hotdogs grilled by P.E. teachers Chris Axelgard, Randal Tiffany and Judith Thomsen were served along with chips, lemonade and different sodas. While some gulped their food down instantly, others sat down and ate it with friends amidst enjoyable conversation.

According to ASB advisor Kristina Provost, the Senior BBQ began last year with the purpose of gathering all the seniors at one place so that they could enjoy their leisurely lunch. This year's Senior BBQ was scheduled later on in the school year due to the Catalina Island trip and first semester finals.

A second senior BBQ was held on the evening of June 5 followed by the senior awards banquet. After gathering with friends to enjoy the food served to them, the seniors watched video clips from their "unforgettable" prom less than three weekends ago.

The senior awards ceremony began as the parents of students being honored began to arrive. The parents looked at their sons and daughters proudly as they went up to Tiffany to receive their awards.

This night will probably be remembered as a remarkable one for both seniors and their parents.
