(June 4, 2004) -- Bruce Hinckley and John Sadd visited Clark Wednesday as honorary Clark Principals for a Day. Hinckley was the Chief Financial Officer of Caesar’s World, which owns Caesar’s Palace. Sadd heads a certified public accounting firm and is the parent of two Clark students.

Coordinator of Public Information and Partnerships Vic Pallos organized this 12th annual Principal for Day event. The process began months in advance with letters being sent out to business and community leaders who showed interest. The leaders responded and chose a school of interest. Pallos then mixed and matched their leaders to their selected sites.

According to Pallos, there are three goals of this program: to welcome community leaders into schools and change any prejudices they have about schools; to show off each school’s positive traits; and to allow GUSD to make friends with more influential people.

Principal Doug Dall provided a tour of the Clark campus. In Frank Wyatt’s Design class, Hinckley and Sadd said they were thoroughly impressed with Clark’s reputation on being up-to-date with today’s technological advances.

According to Sadd, almost every job these days involves computer work. Even trades that may not have used computers before, such as being a mechanic, now involve computers. Pallos also said that thanks to Clark, Hinckley saw technology that he has only heard of.
