(April 8, 2005) -- “Quiet on the set!” The studio was closed off and the red light was on indicating to outsiders that the making of a movie was in progress. As sophomore Dana Boulos and additional students from Clark and other high schools walked past the closed set, their tour guide informed them that actor Johnny Depp was inside filming the long awaited sequel to Pirates of the Caribbean. “We were all so excited because we thought we’d get a chance to meet him, but the shoot was too exclusive for ‘high school’ students,” said Boulos.

Five students from Clark were chosen to attend Disney Career Day at Disney Studios in Burbank on March 17. The students started their day off in a conference room where a presenter spoke to them about the different classes Disney Studios offers students. The students had a chance to choose three of the sessions they were most interested in.

“The music class was my favorite because we learned how people go through the selection process of picking songs for a certain movie,” said sophomore Armen Harootun. Both the president and vice president of the music department took the time to explain their duties and list a few big name artists they’ve worked with, such as Sting and Hilary Duff.

The fashion class was a great hit with the students because they received free hand bags, candy, notebooks and pens. During the summer, Disney will have summer programs available for teenagers to help approve fashion trends that will go out on the market. “I’m a huge fan of fashion; I can’t wait to get back into the studio," Boulos said.

As the students were leavin, Boulos noticed an area in front of the main building where celebrity hand prints with signed autographs in the cement lay scattered around. “My hands were a perfect fit with Julie Andrews’ hands. I was overwhelmed because Julie Andrews is one of my favorite actresses,” said Boulos.
