(April 10, 2008) -- The Bamboozle Left festival attracted roughly 20,000 people this past Saturday  and Sunday. The music festival, held at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine. had an impressive line up of  artists including Alkaline Trio, Chiodos, Daphne for Derby and Anti-Flag. But the group everyone was looking forward
to seeing was My Chemical Romance, and they didn’t disappoint according to  sophomore Alex Abraamians. “We tried taking stalker pics of them coming out of
their tour bus,” Abraamians said.

The two-day music festival is held annually and takes place outdoors, in rain or shine. The event started in 2003 and has been showcasing bands with alternative rock, indie, emo and punk-rock musical genres. With the Bamboozle Left festival, one gets the best of both worlds. It’s not just any old concert. There are rides and activities for guests to participate in. It’s partly a carnival and partly a concert event.

The crowd consisted of die-hard fans as well as those who’d push and shove to see their favorite bands. Due to pushing and shoving in the mosh pit, some lost clothing items. “I lost my shoe and I have bruises all over my body!” Abraamians said.

Sophomore David Dzhrnazyan, who also attended the event along with Abraamians and other friends, said he lost consciousness at one point because he’d been kicked and knocked out on the floor. “There’s emo chicks and sweaty people all around you,” he said. Dzhrnarzyan and Abraamians’ favorite bands were The Bravery, Jeffrey Starr and Black Audio. Both enjoyed My Chemical Romance the most, however. Though the event that started bright and early at 8 a.m. was tiring and left them black and bruised, the long lines and concert wounds were worth it, they said.

The concert goes around the states and its next stop is New Jersey on May 3.
